Meteor Showers Expected

Get yourself out of the big city and to somewhere very, very dark.

Today kicks off the annual Geminid meteor shower in which the faithful nighttime observer should be able to witness at least one falling star a minute for most of the night.

The shower will peak Wednesday night/Thursday morning when up to 120 meteors an hour will be lighting up the skies. That’s a whole lot of wishes to make!

The Geminid meteor shower is one of Mother Nature’s greatest performances. Do yourself a favor and head up to some high mountaintop with a coffee maker and plenty of warm clothes. Then sit back and enjoy the show.
