If there’s one thing we probably DON’T need, it’s another health and fitness bar. From the well-established Power Bar to mom and pop brands that run a wide gamut, the shelves at your local REI are already stacked with foil packages galore containing the newest thing in energy nourishment.
But then, who can resist the idea of this famous name stepping into the4 ring: Muhammad Ali. Yes, the Greatest of All Time has lent his name to a new brand of energy food with the name GOAT which stand for (and I’m sorry I already gave this away) Greatest of all Time. Ali has hooked up with candy and heavy-metals behemoth Mars to bring us a mixture of chips, fruit bars and crunch mixes with names like Thrill-a-Dill, Holy Guacamole and Who’s the Mango. No word on whether a Float Like a Butterfly bar will also be available soon.
So, yes, while the shelves are already stocked with more brands than we can cont, the name recognition here might just be enough to deliver a solid 1-2 punch to some of the leading energy food brands. We’ll have to wait and see.
