I’m not suddenly expressing a burst of patriotism here, I really just like this photo. Plain and simple. And having tried my hand on a few occasions to shoot eagles (photographically-speaking), I know how hard it can be to get a shot like this. Generally, you need a long lens. Unless of course, the eagle is stuffed at the local museum. This is is decidedly not. Shot by the aptly named Hoot1, this shot deserves our POTD props and perhaps even the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.
