The Document Retaining Travel Scarf

Don’t feel like carrying important travel documents or spare cash in your socks? How about wearing them around your neck? For $50, Hammacher Schlemmer will sell you a lightweight, “cashmere-soft” scarf to hold all your travel documents, including your passport, boarding pass, hip flask, incriminating Polaroids, and more.

Made of 100% polyester, the scarf’s six hidden pockets are sewn into the the underside so they’re hidden from view when the scarf is draped oh-so-casually around your shoulders. HS claims belt loops and belt clips secure the scarf from pickpockets or the wind, but I’ve never seen a belt-clipped scarf on anyone, so I don’t know how “incognito” this might make you. It might just make you look like a ridiculous tourist.

This “in plain sight” scarf is a novel way to transport important documents, but be aware that it probably won’t be useful if (a) you’re heading to an equatorial destination, or (b) you stuff it full of the coins you’ve managed to accumulate on your most recent adventure. Comes in charcoal or khaki; not yet available as a feather boa.
