Those who visit my home town of Los Angeles usually leave with visions of Disneyland and Venice Beach in their heads. Few return home to Europe or elsewhere with exciting stories and photographs about the city’s architecture.
And yet, there is one German who did just that.
Martin Schall, in fact, was so overwhelmed by the depth and variety of architecture in Los Angeles that he has built an extensive webpage with more than 1,700 images of what the City of Angels has to offer the architectural buff.
Those interested in exploring this cultural side of LA, might want to prepare for their visit by browsing through the many categories featured on the webpage; Modern Buildings, Googie Style Architecture, Movie Palaces, Victorian Houses, Historic Downtown, and more.
There is also an interactive map of downtown with clickable images for a better understanding of where so many of these fine buildings are located.
Take a few minutes to browse through yourself and discover that Los Angeles has a lot more to offer than Hollywood films and frolicking beach blondes.
