While visiting the small town of Bolinas, California a few months ago, I came across this strange contrast: a rusty, mold covered gate with strange goo and layers of oxidized metals. Sitting atop was a pair of child’s shoes, all pink and frilly. I’m not sure what led me to take the photo, but I’m going to toot my own horn here and say it was worth it.
