This week has been HUGE for Gadling! Aside from our continued investigation of travel-related oddities from around the world and beyond, we brought on two new bloggers: Catherine Bodry and Brook Silva-Braga. Catherine lives in Alaska, has a Master’s Degree in English Literature, and is an assistant editor at Alaska Wellness Magazine. If Brook Silva-Braga’s name sounded familiar, it’s probably because we’ve featured him a few times in the past. He’s the writer, directer, producer, and star of the groundbreaking round-the-world travel documentary, A Map For Saturday. He’s based in New York City, but currently traveling around northern Europe, and writing about it in Gadling’s new series, Across Northern Europe. Keep an eye on it! Here are some highlights from the past week:
- What to do When Your Flight is Delayed. If it has never happened to you, you’re one in a million. Catherine explores what different airports are doing to keep their grumpy, delayed customers entertained. Live bands? Art galleries? Not too shabby…
- Across Northern Europe: Shining a Light On Iceland. Here’s Brook’s introductory post in his new series, Across Northern Europe.
- Chinese Buffet – Part 4: Beijing’s 365-Day Countdown Begins. Gadling writer, Kelly Amabile, is traveling around China and sharing her experiences in another original Gadling series called Chinese Buffet. In this post, she finds herself in Beijing, where they begin their 365-day countdown until the 2008 Olympics.
- Private Jet Packs now For Sale. Who wouldn’t want to fly around with a jet pack? Well, now you can — for a cool $155,000.
- Toilet Paper? So Twentieth Century. Is toilet paper a thing of the past? Some people think so.
Until next week…
