While the original list started out with 647 cities nominated by readers, it has now been narrowed down to the following 10 (shown with current rankings):
- Hammondsport, NY: 23.9%
- Weaverville, CA: 23.1%
- Beaufort, NC: 21.1%
- Damascus, VA: 7.1%
- Port Townsend, WA: 6.4%
- Nashville, IN: 5.9%
- Ste. Genevieve, MO: 3.9%
- Cape May, NJ: 3.9%
- Jerome, AZ: 3.0%
- Cooke City, MT: 1.9%
