Daily gear deal – Aliph Jawbone 2 Bluetooth headset for $40

by Scott Carmichael on

Today’s daily deal is for the popular Aliph Jawbone 2 Bluetooth headset.

This noise canceling headset is considered to be one of the best options out there for making calls in a noisy environment. OF course, as with all Bluetooth products, whether or not you think the Jawbone is “pretty” is a matter of taste.

This headset normally retails for about $90, but is on sale for one day only, through deals site “dailysteals.com” for just $39.99.

Included with the Jawbone 2 headset is a charging cable and an AC adapter. Shipping is included in the purchase price.

You’ll find the deal here, just remember that when they run out of inventory, the deal is gone, and as with all one-deal-a-day sites, when the timer runs out, they will switch to a different product, so don’t wait too long to order.

Daily gear deal – MoGo Bluetooth mouse for $30

by Scott Carmichael on

Today’s daily gear deal is for the MoGo Bluetooth mouse. This may be the second mouse I’ve posted this week, but the MoGo mouse is unlike any other mouse out there.

MoGo stores and recharges inside your laptop. Of course, this does mean your laptop will need a PCCard slot. To use the mouse, you simply pop it out of the expansion slot and unfold the small stand on the bottom. The mouse communicates with your PC using Bluetooth, so you will either need integrated Bluetooth, or an additional Bluetooth “dongle”.

The MoGo mouse normally retails for about $60, but is currently on sale at Buy.com for just $29.99. If your laptop is equipped with an Expresscard/54 slot instead of PCCard, you’ll need a different version ($10 more).

The 3 versions on sale are:

Shipping on these items is free.

Daily gear deal – 320GB external hard drive USB/Firewire for $65

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is for this Verbatim 320GB portable external hard drive. The drive features USB and Firewire interfaces.

The 320GB storage space should be enough to hold multiple backups of most of your important files. In addition to this, it can also make a safe place to store any photos and videos you make on your trip.

The best part about these portable drives is that they can be powered using the USB port of your laptop or desktop computer, which means you don’t have to drag an additional power supply along with you.

Another great thing a large external drive can do, is add more storage space for music or video files – especially since many small laptop computers only come with limited space.

You’ll find this Verbatim 320GB portable hard drive on sale at Amazon for $64.99, which includes free shipping.

Daily gear deal – Kensington cordless netbook mouse with nano receiver for $25

by Scott Carmichael on

Today’s gear deal is for the new Kensington cordless netbook mouse with nano receiver.

This 2 button mouse runs off 2 AAA batteries (included), and communicates with your netbook with its “nano receiver”.

The mouse is part of a larger lineup of Kensington netbook accessories which includes a universal netbook charger and a compact netbook lock.

If you have ever spent any length of time using the tiny trackpad on your netbook, you’ll understand how a mouse could make your machine quite a bit easier to use.

The mouse is on sale for just $24.99, which means you are one penny short of reaching the $25 threshold for free shipping. I recommend adding something really cheap to reach $25.
