Daily travel deal – 7 day Bermuda cruise from New York for $540

What better way to kick off Spring than a 7 day round trip cruise from New York to Bermuda? You’ll sail on board the Norwegian Dawn, and get to enjoy all the amenities on this ship.

Spend your time in one of the three pools, or enjoy a bite to eat in one of the 12 different restaurants or nine bars

Or how about losing some of that buffet weight in the fitness center? At night, you can be entertained in the Broadway theater or trying your luck in the casino.

This 7 day cruise starts at just $539, depending on the room level you select. To make the deal even better, you are even eligible for a shipboard credit ($25 for in inside room, up to $250 for the largest rooms). And if that isn’t enough, if you are an AFL/CIO union member, you may even be eligible for an even lower rate!

Remember, these cruises include all your meals, so for just over $75 you get a room and all your meals and entertainment, and because the cruise leaves from New York, residents of that area won’t have to invest anything extra in flying to a port.

The ship spends 3 days in Bermuda, which should leave you with plenty of time to enjoy the island, and because your “hotel” is parked in the port, you only have to unpack and pack once.

The price quoted is a “from” price, and depends on your date of departure, availability and room category. Quoted prices do not include taxes or additional fees.

Daily gear deal – 2GB Archos MP3/video player for $26

Regular readers will remember that I posted a deal on this product l a couple of weeks ago, but since it just dropped to an absurdly low $26, I felt I really had to share it with you again.

The Archos 105 2GB media player features a 1.8″ OLED screen and is just 7mm thin. The device supports music from most popular formats, and video in the WMV format. The device even features a photo viewer, capable of viewing JPEG images.

The battery is capable of powering the device for about 18 hours.
Reviews of the player are generally positive, but they do point out that video quality is quite poor, which makes sense with such a small screen.

At just $26.29 it’s a real bargain, and if you need a couple of players to keep your kids (or significant other) quiet during your trip, it probably won’t disappoint you.

You’ll find the deal at Amazon, and since it is over $25, you’ll even get it shipped for free! The player comes with a quick start guide, headphones and a USB cable.

Daily gear deal – Kodak Zi6 pocket HD digital camcorder for $130

My daily deal for today is for a camera I reviewed last year – the Kodak Zi6 pocket handheld HD camcorder.

This camera can record video at 720p, and 60 frames per second, which equals “real HD”.

The device has 128MB of built in memory, and an SD(HC) card slot, so you will have to invest a little more in a memory card if you plan to record more than a few minutes of content.

The camera runs off AA batteries, and a charger with 2 AA’s is included. To transfer the video off the Zi6, you simply flip the integrated USB connector out the side, and plug it into your PC. The included software allows for easy transfers to Youtube.

The Kodak Zi6 normally retails for $179, but is currently on sale through Amazon for just $129.99 with free shipping.

Daily gear deal – Sabrent digital TV tuner for your laptop for $30

My daily deal for today has the ability to keep you entertained. This Sabrent digital USB TV Tuner can receive broadcasts “over the air” and off digital cable (and yes, the product is 100% ready for the DTV transition).

Imagine being stuck at the airport and plugging this thing into your laptop to catch up with the “big game”, or using it to get some decent TV channels at your hotel.

The device comes complete with the receiver itself, a pocket HD antenna and a remote control.

It’ll work on Windows 2000, XP and Vista (sorry Mac users), and it even comes with a basic video recording package, which allows you to schedule recordings.

Products like this usually retail for about $70, but if you hurry up, you’ll be able to snag one at Woot.com for just $29.99 (plus $5 shipping). Just remember, Woot is a “one deal a day” site, so when the inventory has sold out, the deal is gone for good.

Daily travel deal – Hawaii 9 day island hopper package from $915

I’ll admit right away that our daily travel deal for today is not exactly “budget friendly”, but that does not mean it isn’t a scorching travel package deal!

Starting at $915, you’ll fly from the Continental US to Honolulu, spend three nights on Oahu, then fly to Kauai, spend three nights there, then on to Maui, and (you guessed it!), spend your final three nights there before flying back to the mainland.

The package includes all nine nights, your inter-island flights and roundtrip airfare back home. The starting price of $915 is based off a departure from Los Angeles. Departures from other airports will add to the price, but even a package from as far away as Chicago only adds about $200.

This package is a great way to see the best of the islands, or just to experience 3 different beaches in 9 days.

The best part of this deal is that it does not force you to stick to their schedule – you can add or remove nights, change hotels and even pick different inter-island flights. Rather spend a day or 2 more on Maui and one day less on Oahu? No problem at all!

You’ll find the deal here, which is also where you’ll find more about the various destinations and the different hotels you can add to the package. One quick word of warning – no transportaion between the airport and the hotels is inlcuded, so be sure to reserve a bus service, or pre-book a rental car.
