Daily gear deal – big Swiss Gear luggage clearance

by Scott Carmichael on

Today’s daily deal is for a spring cleaning sale of Swiss Gear bags over at Amazon. The lineup includes a bunch of backpacks, some rolling luggage, messenger bags and laptop bags.

The bags start just under $20, and the discounts range from a measly $10 all the way up to well over $250 on the more advanced bags.

All orders over $25 will ship for free. When you find a bag you like, be sure to check the pricing on different colors of the same bag, less popular colors can often shave up to $20 off the price.

Daily travel deal – JetBlue one day fare sale with flights from $29

by Scott Carmichael on

Our daily travel deal for today is for a hot one-day sale on JetBlue.

Starting at just $29 (each way), you’ll find flights to and from most JetBlue cities.

The fine print is actually quite simple on this deal – you must purchase the ticket today, but it can be for flights up till June 10th 2009. Travel is only valid on Tuesday and Wednesday and you have a 7 day advance purchase window.

Not all the city pairs are exciting (unless Boston to Buffalo is high on your list), but for just $39 each way, you can fly from Ft. Lauderdale to Nassau or $79 from New York to Puerto Rico.

You’ll find the entire list of cities on sale here, which is where you’ll find the exact requirements.

Daily gear deal – refurbished Magellan 3000T GPS unit for under $50.

by Scott Carmichael on

Today’s daily deal is the first time a brand name GPS unit has dropped under $50.

The Magellan 3000T is a slightly older GPS unit, but despite its age, lack of features and general outdated look, it is still a solid navigation system. Sure, it is not as pretty as some of the current models, and it won’t speak street names or connect to your mobile phone, but at $49.99 you really can’t complain too much.

Of course, the low price means it has been refurbished, but it is still backed by a 90 day warranty, and you get it shipped for free. Included in the box is the unit itself, a windshield mount and a charger cord. The pre-loaded maps cover all 50 states, Puerto Rico, Canada and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The device even has an MP3 and photo player built in, so if all else fails, your $50 will get you a really big music player.

Daily travel deal – all inclusive Caribbean resorts starting at $112

by Scott Carmichael on

Unless you live on the west coast, you are probably still stuck in rain and mid 40’s weather.

So, what better way to escape it all than heading to the Caribbean for a bit of all inclusive R&R?

Starting at just $112, you’ll find yourself in one of the 16 resorts on sale. And when these places say “all inclusive”, they really mean it.

Once you are checked in, you’ll get free food, free drinks (including alcohol), free entertainment for yourself and the kids, and most resorts even include free towels, hammocks, parasols and a well stocked in-room minibar.

The list of destinations can be found here, which is where you’ll also find the prices for accommodations and airfare. With 4 nights and your flight (from Florida) starting at just $520, this really is a nice all inclusive bargain.

As always with travel deals, these prices are only available on certain dates and are based on double occupancy. Most hotels will charge an additional resort fee other service charges.

Daily gear deal – Kensington LiquidAUX Bluetooth carkit with remote control for $31

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is a fantastic 3-in-1 product.

The Kensington LiquidAUX Bluetooth carkit works as a Bluetooth handsfree carkit for your phone, plus it can stream Bluetooth music to your car stereo, and it also includes a USB charging port.

With a compatible phone (the iPhone will be Bluetooth Stereo compatible with its summer update), this device will be able to control your music, charge your phone and let you make hands free calls, all from the same device.

The unit even comes with a steering wheel mountable wireless remote control, which allows you to control the music as well as pick up/hang up a phone call.

One thing I do need to point out is that this device will require your car stereo to have a LINE IN jack.

This product normally retails for about $80, but buy.com currently has it on sale for just $30.99, which even includes free shipping!
