Daily deal – Personalized Netbook case starting at $6

by Scott Carmichael on

Got yourself a nice Netbook? How about a nice personalized neoprene case for it?

Artscow.com is currently running a promotion on these cases. They offer them in 7″, 8.9″/10″ and 12″, so there is a case for every size Netbook on the market.

To personalize, you simply upload the image you want printed on the case, and they’ll take care of the rest.

The normal price for these cases is $9.99, $11.99 and $13.99, but when you enter coupon code NETBOOKCASE599 the price drops to $5.99, $7.99 and $9.99.

Compared to the price you’d pay in a retail store, this is a real bargain, and a great way to keep your new machine, looking nice and shiny.

One tip – before you upload the image, open it in a photo editing package and add your name and address to the picture, that way you’ll always have your Netbook in a case that should be able to find its way back to you.

The cases even ship for free, but since they are produced in Hong Kong, it may take 2-3 weeks to receive your order, a small price to pay for such a great deal.

Daily deal – 150 songs to entertain the kids for a buck

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today won’t hold your clothes, doesn’t have any buttons, and won’t tell you which turn to take to reach your hotel, making it entirely different from any deals I’ve posted here in the past.

Instead, the deal is for 150 songs for kids, perfect for loading on your MP3 player, or for burning onto a CD to entertain them in the car on the way to your destination.

The normal “retail” value for this collection is about $132 (according to Amazon, even though they sell the CD version for $10), but you can buy all 150 tracks for just $0.99!

Best of all, like all Amazon MP3 downloads, there is no DRM protection on these tracks, so you can do whatever you want with them.

Before purchasing them, I recommend downloading the Amazon MP3 downloader, which is available for Windows, Linux and Mac. The application takes care of the download for you, and can even add the music to iTunes for you.

Daily deal – 160GB Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet for $279

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is perfect if you are in the market for a “real” media player.

The Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet offers a whopping 160GB storage space with support for almost every music and video format out there.

The device has a large 4.8″ TFT touchscreen with a near HD 800×480 resolution. 160GB is enough for 40,000 songs, or about 145 movies!

The integrated WiFi lets you surf the web using the Opera browser, or checking out online movies through the Archos media club. When you need support for more movie formats, you can even purchase additional plugins which add more functionality to the device.

Available accessories include a helmet camera (for recording outdoor activities), an FM radio and a digital video recorder, for scheduling recordings off your home TV signal.

These devices are so perfect for using in-flight, that many airlines actually offer them to their passengers instead of relying on old seatback screens.

Normally, this player retails for just over $400, but is currently on sale for just $279, which even comes with free shipping.

Daily deal – noise canceling headphone sale

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is for a decent lineup of discounts on some pretty popular headphones.

Included in the sale is something for everyone. From $100 off the Creative Labs Aurvana X-FI noise canceling headphones (reviewed here last year) to 5 different in-ear isolating earbuds, starting at just $4.99.

Do yourself a favor, and get some decent noise isolating/canceling headphones, you’ll really appreciate getting some peace and quiet on your next flight!

Remember, any order over $25 ships for free, and Amazon prime members can get free 2 day shipping.

Daily deal – 8GB 4th generation iPod nano for $100 (refurbished)

by Scott Carmichael on

Today’s daily deal is for a really cheap way to get your hands on the latest Apple iPod nano.

This 4th generation device features a built in accelerometer (for rotating the screen when you watch a movie), 8GB of storage, spoken menus and built in games, with the ability to add more games.

The 8GB iPod nano usually retails for about $140, but if you don’t mind a refurbished unit with a 90 day warranty, you’ll be able to pick one up at woot.com. Shipping is just $5.

At the moment, the green and orange versions are sold out, which leaves the black, blue, pink, purple, silver and yellow models to choose from.

As with all Woot deals, when the item is sold out, it is gone, and will be replaced by something new tomorrow, so don’t wait too long to place your order!
