Daily deal – Philips 8.5″ DVD player with iPod docking station for $90

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is perfect if you regularly find yourself flying an airline that has not yet made the switch to personal TV screens and decent movies (yeah, I’m talking to you, United Airlines).

The Philips DCP851 is an 8.5″ portable DVD player with an integrated iPod dock. The unit has a battery capable of powering it for two and a half hours, and comes with an assortment of docking adapters.

If you’d rather watch DVD’s, you can play most formats, including DVD’s with DiVX and MPEG4 content. In addition to the DVD and iPod playback options, you can even add content to an SD memory card, and play stuff of the integrated card reader.

Included with the Philips DCP851 is a remote control, car charger, AC charger and an AV cable.

The unit is currently on sale at Amazon.com for just $89.99 and ships for just under $9. There are also several retailers selling the unit refurbished, saving you about $8.

Daily deal – Skyway 6 piece luggage bundle for $100

by Scott Carmichael on

Today’s daily deal is for the Skyway 6 piece luggage set.

Most sets of luggage offer one decent bag, and about 5 useless bags, but the Skyway set is actually very decent.

Included in the $99.99 set are 2 24″ rolling cases (for checking), 2 21″ cases (for your carry-on) and 2 duffel bags.

The duffel connects to the 21″ bag to make a single piece of rolling luggage.

The Skyway luggage set is backed by a 15 year warranty. This set normally retails for $200, but is currently on sale at Costco.com for just 99.99 (plus $10 for shipping).

You will have to be a Costco member to get the lowest price, but non-members can still order if you don’t mind a $5 non-member surcharge.

Daily deal – Energizer Energi To Go iPod/iPhone charger pack for $10

by Scott Carmichael on

Today’s daily deal is for the Energizer Energi To Go portable power pack for the iPod and iPhone.

This battery powered dock can deliver up to 2 full charges for your device, depending on the model.

A fully charged set of batteries will bring your iPod or iPhone back to 100% in 2-3 hours.

Included with the device are 2 lithium batteries, any kind of battery will work, but these lithium batteries provide the most power.

The Energi To Go charger normally retails for about $30, but is currently on sale at buy.com for just $9.99, with free shipping!

Daily deal – Creative Vado pocket digital camcorder

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is for the Creative Vado pocket digital camcorder.

This small digital video camera records up to 2 hours of content and features a 2x digital zoom, an internal rechargeable battery and a built in USB connector.

Recordings can instantly be sent to Youtube or other video sharing sites, or stored/edited on your PC.

Cameras like this have become increasingly popular thanks to their low cost and durability. I’ve used several of them myself, and often prefer them over a regular digital camera because they are much easier to carry around.

Of course, the video quality is not comparable to a high-end digital video camera, but the content is perfectly acceptable for shots of your vacation or other event.

The Creative Labs Vado normally retails for $99.99, but if you don’t mind the silver version, you can pick one up for just $59.99 with free shipping. The pink Vado version is $5 more. If your wallet has a little extra cash to spare, check out the HD version of this camera.

Daily deal – Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth headset for $33

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is for the Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth headset.

This particular headset is one of the highest rated Bluetooth products on the market, and while it may not be the sexiest, it does have stunning sound quality (for both people on the call).

The microphone boom also features a noise reducing microphone which can cancel out noise from wind and other sources of distraction. And just look how happy the man on that box is, this headset clearly makes you feel awesome!

The Voyager 510 has great battery life, the manufacturer rates it for up to 6 hours of talk time and 100 hours on standby. The headset also features “multipoint”, which allows you to connect to more than one device at the same time.

The Voyager 510 usually retails for around $60, but Amazon.com has it on sale for just $32.99. Since the item is over $25, Amazon will even ship it for free.
