Daily deal – Kensington iPod Deluxe FM Transmitter for $15

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is for the Kensington iPod Deluxe FM Transmitter.

This is not your average iPod FM transmitter, as it has several very smart technologies built in to help get your music on your car stereo.

The QuickSeek feature actually searches for available frequencies, so you don’t have to keep adjusting your radio to find an open spot. In addition to this, the transmitter even broadcasts an “RDS signal”, which means a car radio with RDS will display the iPod track name on its display!

The device will work on any iPod with a dock connector, including the iPod Touch (the iPhone is not listed as being compatible).

This FM transmitter normally retails for about $80, but Frys.com currently has it on sale for just $14.99.

Shipping is about $6, but those lucky enough to live close to a Frys store can select free in-store pickup.

You’ll find the camera on sale at Amazon, who’ll ship it to you for free. Of course, if you or your loved one are not big fans of pink, you can also buy it in silver – for $3 less!

Daily deal – Burton Entourage Insulated Jacket for $99

by Scott Carmichael on

Still freezing your backside off? Unless that damn Groundhog tells us that winter will be over within the next week, my deal for today could come in quite handy for those in cold climates (or those that enjoy wintersports).

The Burton Entourage Insulated Jacket is currently on clearance at REI.com for just $99.93. The jacket is available in 3 sizes, and 3 different colors.

The jacket has a long list of features, including a “jacket to pants interface”, which is a snazzy way of saying it has a neat way of keeping snow out of your butt when you fall off your board.

If you live near an REI store, then you can select free site to store shipping, otherwise you’ll pay $10 for shipping to your house.

While you are there, check out some of the other deals on the REI site, especially now winter is (very) slowly coming to an end, you’ll start seeing more and more winter gear go on sale. As always with deals like this, the longer you wait, the less inventory will be left, so don’t wait too long.

Daily deal – Creative Vado HD Pocket Video camera for $200

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is for the Creative Labs Vado HD Pocket Video Camera.

This pocket HD camera shoots in 720p, which results in a resolution of 1280×720, making for very decent HD video clips. Included in the box is a silicone cover, HDMI cable and rechargeable battery.

The camera charges using the built in flip-out USB connector. Controlling the camera is extremely easy, you simply turn it on, and start shooting. You can then view your recordings on an HDMI equipped TV, or on your PC when you transfer them using the included software. Once on your PC, you can also upload the clips to a variety of video sites.

I’ve got a Vado HD in front of me, and will be posting a full review next week, but I can already reveal that it is an extremely impressive little shooter, and produces surprisingly crisp clips with superb audio. The rechargeable battery and included case and cable make it a great bargain.

The camera has 8GB of built in storage, so you do not need to invest in additional memory.

The Vado HD normally retails for $229, but is currently on sale directly from Creative.com for just $200. That price even includes free shipping!
