Daily deal – Canon Powershot SD790IS digital camera for $120

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is for the Canon Powershot SD790IS. This compact digital camera shoots photos in 10 megapixels and features a 3x optical zoom with optical image stabilization.

The camera also offers the Canon motion detection and face detection system, which should help improve the quality of your photos by preventing “face blur”.

The SD790IS comes with a rechargeable battery pack, AC charger, USB and video cables as well as a puny 32MB memory card. If you plan to make more than 5 or 6 photos you’ll of course need to order an extra memory card.

The camera is on sale at Opticsplanet for $120, and they will even throw in free UPS shipping for you. If you like to do a little research before buying a new digital camera, check out this review at Steve’s Digicams. The camera still retails for over $175 at most online stores, so this deal really is quite “hot”.

Daily deal – Monster OTG400 travel power outlet for $13

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is for the Monster Power OTG400 “outlet to go”.

This 4 outlet device has a wraparound cord that plugs into one of the outlets when you are not using it. Built into the device is also a circuit breaker, which should prevent you from plunging an entire floor of hotel rooms into darkness if you overload something.

Even though we now carry more gadgets than ever, hotels still seem to think one outlet is enough for everyone, so I have been carrying one of these Monster travel outlets for several years.

The product usually sells for about $20, but Amazon has it on sale for $13.26. Shipping is free for Prime members, anyone else will have to pay shipping or buy enough to reach the $25 threshold for super saver shipping.

Daily deal – Refurbished Epson CX8400 scanner/photo printer for $32

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is quite the scorcher – this Epson CX8400 printer may be refurbished, but at $32 it’s an absolute steal.

This all in one device features a flatbed scanner, can print up to 32 pages per minute, integrated copy feature and photo correction settings.

The printer has a built in 2.5″ LCD display and a card reader, making it possible to view and print images directly off your memory cards without the need for a PC.

This printer still sells for $100 on most sites, but if you don’t mind a refurbished unit, you can order it directly from Epson for just $32. The website says $44, but an additional $12 discount is added at the end of the checkout process. You even get free ground shipping from them.

Of course, printers suffer from the “razor blade effect”, so once the ink included with this printer runs out, you’ll have to spend about $60 to refill it. I wouldn’t recommend buying several of these printers just for the ink, but I wouldn’t blame you if you did.

Daily deal – Refurbished Canon Powershot A560 digital camera for $59

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is for a refurbished Canon A560 digital camera.

The A560 is a pretty highly rated Canon camera with a 7.1 megapixel sensor, 4x optical zoom and a 2.5″ LCD display. The camera runs off regular AA batteries.

The camera has been refurbished, which means it was once returned to Canon, who took it apart, and returned it to its “as new” condition. Most of the refurbished products I’ve purchased in the past were indeed just like new, though most of them don’t come in the original box.

The A560 is on sale for just $59, making it one of the cheapest ways to get your hands on a good quality camera, without breaking the bank.

Included in the box is the camera, a 16MB card, 2 AA batteries, a USB cable, a wrist strap and a CD/manual kit.

The camera is on sale at Adorama, and shipping is included in the purchase price.

Daily deal – Navigon 2200T car GPS unit with free lifetime traffic – $130

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is for the Navigon 2200T traffic enabled GPS unit.

This device has a 3.5″ display and features text to speech, with street name pronunciation, the Navigon “reality view” highway direction system and auto day/night mode for adjusting the screen brightness.

Inside the Navigon 2200T is an FM traffic receiver, and you’ll receive free traffic updates for the life of the unit.

The package includes a windshield mount and a car charger cord.

The Navigon 2200T is on sale for $130 at Amazon.com, but the deal is part of their “lightning deals”, which means it’ll be over in about 3 hours (or if inventory runs out sooner). If Amazon sells out, you’ll also find it on sale at jr.com, who are actually the ones providing Amazon with their deal.
