Ski Bulgaria

There are many many places I can think of that I’d like to be heading right now to do some skiing. But I confess that
Bulgaria is not near the top of that list .In fact, I’m not sure it’s even ON the list. Wait, let me check…nope, Bulgaria is not a ski destination with which I am familiar.

And so I
was surprised…in a good way…with this piece in the outdoorsy Stellar Magazine  on skiiing Bulgaria. But Leslie Anthony heads there and
discovers, between gulps of rakia, a grappa-like liquor, that Bulgaria has a few surprises in store. Actually, I love
to see new places discovered…places like Bulgaria that could probably use an infusion of tourism. Is Bulgaria a new
Jackson Hole? Well, probably not. As the writer describes, it’s doubtful that as Jackson someone would try to sell you
an AK-47. Maybe a six-shooter, but not an assault rifle. But my curiosity is piqued and I just scribbled a word on my
list of place I want to ski: Bulgaria.

New Year's in Porcupine Forest

This year Canoe Ski Discovery Company have plans to spend the next
couple of days and the very first day of the New Year in Porcupine Forest. Located only a little
distance away from Saskatoon, Canada, the group invites anyone wanting to share the experience of sledding, skiing, and
sleigh riding into the new dawn starting December 30, 2005 – January 1, 2006. If you’ve never been acquainted with the
woods perhaps it’s time you make friends, become a tree hugger and leave your mouse behind. If it’s been a long time
since you’ve smelled the pine this is the perfect opportunity to get reacquainted. They call the event New Year’s Eve
with Eco Flair. For $295 a person, your traditional pursuits will begin at the Sawyer Lake Ecolodge where you will
receive 2 nights, accommodation, all meals, ski tours, skijouring, dog sledding and more.

One for the Road: Ski Snowboard Europe

I was reading Tripso’s 11 Perfect Gifts For Travelers and agreed with author Charles Leocha’s suggestion that niche guidebooks which focus on particular interests of travelers are indeed super gift ideas. Of course, Leocha used this gift idea list as an opportunity to recommend his own niche travel guides: Ski Snowboard Europe is a step-by-step guide to planning a winter adventure in the Alps in Austria, Italy, Switzerland or France as well as some resorts in Norway, Spain and Andorra. Leocha points out which resorts are best for families or singles and which are recommended for different skill-level skiers and snowboarders. The book also includes helpful details about the atmosphere of particular lodges and updated contact information to make booking your trip easy as a ski down the bunny slope. Leocha is a black-diamond skier who has also written Ski Snowboard America and Canada. The latest editions of both books were released in October 2005.

Girlie Camp Gift Certificates

I didn’t actually discover gift certificates for purchase at Girlie Camp online, however it
wouldn’t make a bad gift giving some lucky young lady out there a printed receipt or voucher of a
paid in full Girlie Camp trip. Numerous camps have opened up for surf and skate fanatics in
Morocco and Prague and for those concerned only with the immediate snow and ski season
bookings before Christmas can score you some surprise extras. The days between now and Santa’s visit to
your casa are few, so jump on it while you can and contact their booking department for any additional questions.
Girlie is a Europe based company and prices are all in Euro’s which I didn’t see any specifics, but
I’m sure they won’t take you too far into the bank. Even after the currency conversion.
