Flying on American? Use this 10% off code

If you’ve been recently suffering from the aforementioned high airfares that George highlighted this morning, this should provide some solace. American Airlines is giving away free 10% off coupon codes at Century in the Making.

By voting on four of the best football moments in the last century, each visitor to the site (with a unique email address) earns a code with which they can discount future travel. Votes can be cast four times over the duration of the promo, once per each category (High School, College, Special, Professional.)

Not a fan of football? Simply pick four random choices and press vote — the 10% code will still be sent to your email address.

The discount may be used for ticket purchases made between March 1, 2010, and May 31, 2010, for travel between March 1, 2010, and May 31, 2010.

Get $250 back with a booking on OpenSkies

With the economy down and whatnot, it’s not hard to fathom that airlines like OpenSkies and even the Virgin Atlantic and BA business products might be suffering. And what do you do when demand drops? Inspire with a fare sale.

Just this past week, OpenSkies announced a $250 coupon on any premium flight that that the airline flies. All that you have to do is sign up for their e-newsletter and the goodies roll in.

All that you have to do to redeem the coupon is book a ticket to Amsterdam or Paris in First (Biz) or Business (Prem +.) Which is still a pretty big deal — the least expensive Prem + tickets to Amsterdam that I could find were in the $1600 range while Paris is a shade under that.

But you have to put it in perspective: for the shade more that you’re paying for a seat on OpenSkies, you’re getting giant, comfy seats, excellent meals and premium service all around. If you’ve got a few extra shares of Google to dump, you can justify that real quick.

Get free Boingo wireless access on the road this weekend

Got any travel plans for the Fourth of July weekend? Most people do. Want some free wireless internet? Most people would like that too.

Well, you’re in luck. Boingo, one of the nations largest pay-for-wireless providers, is running a promotion this weekend where you can get a free day pass on their ubiquitous network.

All that you have to do is sign up for their GoBoingo software that alerts you any time you’re within a Boingo signal and you’ll get a free day pass. Not a bad deal if you just want to check your email or Skype someone on the road and I suppose you can always get rid of the software once you’re finished with it.

Don’t get roped into one of the subscription plans if you don’t want to — Boingo has a habit of sucking you in. If you decide to go down that path through, it’s not a bad service. I hear that out resident pilot Kent Wein uses it all over the world successfully.

Check out the Boingo promo website for more details.

Save 15% off your fall Southwest Airlines travel with this coupon

If you have the foresight to have your fall travel already planned, Southwest Airlines just released a coupon code that will get you 15% off between August 23rd and October 30th.

Use coupon code DING15 to get your discount, but hurry — the coupon code is only valid through April 21. Much of Labor day is also blacked out, so if you want to travel over that weekend make sure you take a couple of extra days off and be flexible.
