Daily Candy’s Travel Commandments

At Daily Candy they do away with resolutions this year to offer their devoted readers travel commandments instead. If you couldn’t come up with any of your own I suggest a trip over to see their two-cents on how and what you should be doing with your precious travel moments abroad. I’ve got a slew of my own and I’m sure you’ll hear them all as the year goes on, but for now we focus on their list. This is about Daily candy after all, not me.

So, what should you be doing you wonder? Well a super-nifty idea they offer (and for those who aren’t frazzled with their long list of to-do already) is to take digi photos of your luggage and its contents. It’s not a full-proof plan on making sure your baggage arrives, but it can’t hurt. Bring souvenirs back for co-workers covering your arse while you were away playing in Tokyo somewhere. Another nice one they offer is when you get ripped off, don’t take it personal. That one might come easier for some than others depending on budgets, but just keep in mind that if someone takes advantage of your tourism dollars they needed them much more than you did anyway. Think of it as an extra donation/contribution to the economy.

Daily Candy Everywhere Weekend Guides

There are some new
things happening over at Daily Candy so take note. For starters the free daily insider’s guide to what’s hot, new and
undiscovered most recently added Atlanta to
its roster of cities, so rush over Atlanta and see what they’ve got in store for you. Not in Atlanta? Not in any major
city, but still want to do what’s considered ‘cool’ for the weekend? To our advantage the good writers are now serving
Everywhere Weekend Guides to the
masses.

In this latest edition
they suggest we travel to one of the most comfortable places known to man in all the world – the couch. They call it a
FCC marathon night and it doesn’t even involve the sweat. Celebrate Francis Ford Coppola’s birthday and rent a few
movies like the Outsiders and the Godfather Triology.
Everywhere Weekend Guide also suggests you trade in the
strawberries and opt for raspberries on your shortcake instead as well some Sunday afternoon reading on young love in
Panama. All of which may not be as awesome as jetting it to Tokyo this weekend, but hey it’s better than nothing.
