Yeah, then why don’t you and the Eiffel tower get a room!

I’m pretty sure I’m not alone when I say I “love” the Eiffel Tower – how can you not enjoy such a magnificent structure? The design, the sheer beauty of it, and the atmosphere around the tower in such an awesome city make it one of the most popular landmarks in the world.

But there are some people who take their love of the structure just a tad too far.

That is what Erika La Tour Eiffel has done. Not only did she “marry” the Eiffel tower, she actually has sex with it.

Let that sink in for a minute – this lady is so in love with the tower that she climbs it, and consummates her relationship with the Eiffel Tower.

These people are called “objectum sexuals” and their relationships are with objects instead of people. Another lady is so in love with the Golden Gate bridge that she sleeps with a piece of the bridge, and does stuff to it I don’t want to know about.

Click the read more link to see a documentary about these people, and to learn more about how deep their love goes for tourist attractions and other objects.

Bizarrely, this behavior is not against the law in France.

This has to be one of the most beautiful shots of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge that I’ve ever seen, and that includes the one in the opening credits of Full House. Nice going, jrodmanjr!

Many people are surprised by the cold, foggy weather that a San Francisco summer can deliver. But jrodmanjr made the most of it and snapped this great shot of the Golden Gate bridge.

This just might be that ‘bridge to nowhere’ we’ve all heard about.

I must be in a message kind of mood. Three weeks ago, I picked a photo with a message on the side of a building. This message snapped by Willy Volk also caught my attention. This is a view of the Golden Gate Bridge that I haven’t seen before. I walked across the Golden Gate years ago, but don’t recall the signs. The one thing that would be a handy thing to have included on this sign is a phone number.

The perspective here is interesting as the bridge does beckon one across to the other side. As Willy titled this, “There is hope.”

If you have any words of wisdom shots, send our way. Frankly, any interesting photo about anything might capture our attention. We like all sorts of subjects. Post on Gadling’s Flickr photo pool.

SF Darfur Pano

While we’re on the topic of California and their activism, let’s go there briefly via a lovely panoramic photo
taken at the Golden Gate Bridge. The good, and always politically active, folks in the Bay Area came together on
Sunday, April 30, to stage a hand-holding vigil at the bridge to
raise awareness about the problems in Darfur.

Yes, there they were, the passionate multitudes, singing and
hoping and praying, and everyone that was driving by who was held back in traffic for hours was thinking, yes, we need
to do something about the bad things happening in Africa, it’s horrible, now get out of the fricken way! It is
a lovely pano, however.
