Stay at the Hard Rock San Diego hotel in December, get a free hybrid car rental

Travelers who stay at the Hard Rock San Diego from Dec. 1 to 30 will get a free hybrid car rental during their stay. Considering that the fees for renting a car can quickly add up, this affordable deal gives you more for less.

The “I’m Dreaming of a Green Christmas” package starts at $149 per room per night. The one-day hybrid car rental (either a Toyota Prius or a Nissan Altima Hybrid from Enterprise-Rent-A-Car) is worth at least $70.

Perfect for families, the Hard Rock San Diego hotel is about a 10-minute drive from the San Diego Zoo, a 15-minute drive from SeaWorld, and a 40-minute drive from LEGOLAND in Carlsbad.

Details: Book at least 24 hours in advance. Mention promo code GREEN or check availability at Limit one 24-hour car rental per stay.

Daily Pampering: The Living Art Penthouse at Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas

Imagine you’re going to Las Vegas and you want more than the basic room with the view overlooking the Las Vegas Strip. Maybe you want something a little sexier, a little prettier, a little larger. How’s 4,276-square-feet sound?

Earlier this year we told that the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas was opening an all-suites tower and now, we got a sneak peak at some of the swanky digs.

From the Sex & Pistols Penthouse, which “sets the mood for a wild and crazy Las Vegas stay” to the Altered States Penthouse, “a 3D world of purple landscapes and mysterious blue skies …where women dancing in time to the music”, the Hard Rock has pimped out its penthouses for their biggest spenders.

The grand daddy of them all is the Living Art Penthouse, a 4,276-square foot space designed by architect and designer Mark Zeff, who infused dark colors and sleek furniture to create a seductive scene that includes an outdoor terrace with a plunge pool. The price of this tony pad? Rates start at $5,000 a night.

New boutique hotel RUMOR opens in Las Vegas

It may not be as grand as its neighbors, but what RUMOR lacks in stature it makes up for in intimacy. Las Vegas’ latest boutique hotel recently opened featuring all the goodness of Las Vegas packed into a much smaller space.

RUMOR (formerly St. Tropez Hotel) is a two-story pet-friendly hideaway directly across the street from the famed Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. While it might get lost among the expanding Las Vegas skyline, the boutique hotel has an interior that rivals its neighbors.

The 150-suite features Chinese foo dogs at the entrance, hand carved from solid slabs of distinctly colored cantera stone; flowing drapes and 10-foot glass doors that open into a stunning display of original artwork. RUMOR’s lobby area is more like a lounge, as opposed to the typical casino floor found in Vegas, and the hotel’s restaurant, Addiction, is said to have some pretty addictive cuisine. Head outside to the hotel’s courtyard and you’ll find a pool, wet deck and lawn, all framed with palm trees. By day, relax by the pool with a cocktail; at night, put on your party shoes and dance the night away with DJs and live musicians.

We wonder of what happens at RUMOR stays at RUMOR, or if part of the fun of this new hotel is getting to gossip about last night…

Daily Pampering: Graceland Suite at Hard Rock Hotel, Universal Orlando

There’s a luxurious side to rock ‘n’ roll, and it doesn’t involve tour buses and groupies.

The Hard Rock Hotel at Universal Orlando recently set up the “Graceland Suite” for guests who want to reconnect with their Elvis days, and embrace their luxurious side like the King himself so often did.

The 2,375-square-foot Graceland Suite features authentic Far East artifacts and subtle nods to Elvis in the wall art. You’ll also find older images of Graceland, a master bathroom with a whirlpool tub, a glass-encased, double-sided fireplace that can be seen from the master bedroom and master bathroom, a baby grand piano in the living room, wall-mounted 65-inch plasma TV in the living area, and a 42-inch plasma TV in the master bedroom.

If Elvis were alive today (and maybe he is), we think he’d totally shell out $2,175 a night for the posh Graceland Suite.
