Omni Chicago Hotel offers special rates for Bears, Packers playoff game

Everyone is gearing up for Sunday’s big game, especially Chicago hotels! We already brought you news about the Ritz-Carlton, Dallas‘, month-long Super Bowl promotions and the Chicago Kimpton’s four hotel deals for this weekend’s game. Now the Omni Chicago Hotel is joining the team and giving travelers a sweet deal for the playoffs.

The Omni Chicago Hotel, Michigan Avenue’s only all-suite hotel, is offering travelers heading to the Windy City for Sunday’s game a “Green Bay Bundle” — a two-night stay where the second night is free of charge should Green Bay triumph over Chicago. The promotion also includes a $50 food and beverage credit.

To sweeten the deal, Bill Bennett, director of sales and marketing for the Omni Chicago Hotel, Windy City native and die hard Chicago fan, has agreed to wear a Green Bay jersey and the iconic “cheesehead” hat if Green Bay wins.

The “Green Bay Bundle” package is available on January 21, 22 and 23 only, has limited availability and can be booked on a first come, first serve basis. The rate is $179.00 per night with a free second night should Green Bay win.

Philadelphia hotel fire is murder cover-up

There was violence at the center of a recent hotel fire in Philadelphia. A repeat guest of the Center City Omni Hotel, Patrick Brady was found beaten, strangled and set ablaze. The 49-year-old stayed at the property when in the area on business.

On Saturday, the local fire department was called to the hotel because of an eighth-floor fire. It was put out quickly and limited to Brady’s room. Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey told the local ABC affiliate, “The fire was probably set to cover up the homicide. That’s not all that unusual in cases like that.” Information about the suspect hasn’t been released.

Omni to launch new luxury brand of hotels

Move over Marriott and Hyatt, Omni wants to share some space. Seems the big-hotel-chain-turned-small-boutique-brand concept is taking off and Omni Hotels is jumping on the bandwagon – Omni’s new luxury hotel brand, Mokara, will open this April in San Antonio.

The Watermark Hotel & Spa is being branded as the first in Omni Hotel & Resorts’ new line of luxury hotels. Watermark is one of San Antonio’s most recognized hotels, and the folks at Omni say the rebranding and new Mokara name will only help drive more guests to San Antonio. We’ll watch and see what happens…

While limited details are available right now, we’ll keep a close eye on Omni’s new concept and how it fares next to Marriott’s Autograph Collection and Hyatt’s Andaz properties.%Gallery-73514%
