Photo Of The Day: Hanalei Bay Rainbow

Gadling Flickr Pool member Scott Slater says, “A brief rainstorm came by while I was swimming, and this rainbow appeared.” Where have you caught a brief moment of sun through the clouds — at the beach, the lake, the mountains?

Photo Of The Day: Rainbow Over West Virginia

Full disclosure: I was with photographer Ben Britz when we spotted this rainbow, dare I say wanna-be double rainbow, over the hills of my parents’ house in Morgantown, West Virginia. This rainbow was the third rainbow we’d seen that day and it was the best. For the first time in our lives, we could see the ends of the rainbow. I’ve always thought that the rolling Appalachian hills of West Virginia are beautiful, but it’s funny how well that beauty is accented by something so natural and yet always so special. Do you have any stunning rainbow photos to share with us? If so, just upload them to the Gadling Flickr Pool for review.

Photo Of The Day: Rainbow Bikini Beach

C’mon, who doesn’t like rainbows, bikinis or the beach? But you have to be honest – how often do you find all three in a single travel photo? Yet that’s exactly what we came across in today’s exuberant photo by Flickr user Enjoy Patrick Responsibly. The shot, taken in Barbados, is such a fun and clever blending of the usual travel “cliches” that we couldn’t resist posting it while simultaneously shouting “yahoo!” at the top of our lungs.

Taken any great travel photos lately? Why not add them to the Gadling group on Flickr? We might just pick one of yours as our Photo of the Day.

Photo Of The Day: Lyme Regis Rainbow

It’s not often that you see both points of a rainbow, much less capture it on film. Flickr user Matt Coats did both in today’s Photo of the Day, taken in Lyme Regis, a coastal town on England‘s Heritage Coast. Lyme Regis is known for its preponderance of pre-historic fossils, but with phenomena like this rainbow, one has to wonder whether pots of gold also line the coast.

Do you have your own jaw-dropping photographs of natural phenomena? Upload your travel shots to the Gadling Flickr Pool and your image could be selected as our Photo of the Day.

Photo Of The Day: Vendor In Delhi

Street vendors – you seem them everywhere. From the newsstands of Las Ramblas in Barcelona to the Pad Thai carts of Bangkok, street side commerce is an inevitable, enjoyable part of daily urban life for most of the world. In today’s photo, taken by Flickr user clee130, we find a balloon and toy seller in New Delhi, India. The bright colorful orbs create a striking visual focal point to the image. The man’s comical devil ears add another element of whimsy to the scene.

Taken any great travel photos of your own? Why not add them to our Gadling group on Flickr? We might just pick one of yours as our Photo of the Day.
