This scene seems like it’s out of “Requiem for a Dream” — maybe ferris wheels just always have that sort of desolate and spooky feel. The photographer, Weegolo, notes that the photo (of the Singapore Flyer, hardly a ferris wheel, I know) wasn’t taken in black and white; “it was just a very gray day,” a detail that adds to the lonely vibe of the picture.
