Mardi Gras A Little Quieter This Year

Why are the streets of New Orleans slightly quieter this year given that today is
Mardi Gras? A good question. The AP’s
answer
is that, according to people on the street interviews, the weather isn’t that hot and the holiday is earlier this year.
That being said, things should still be rocking down in the French Quarter as Fat Tuesday winds down to midnight and
the start of Lent. If you go tonight though, do me a favor – leave the guns at home (one person already has been shot
along a parade route). Thanks!
