I swear I have been there before, although I have never been at St. Maarten’s. You are trying to enjoy the beach and there is a giant plane landing right over your head. Kinda takes the romance out of it. Or, as the photographer, matt.hintsa, says: “Forget sharks, big waves, and rip currents. You might get hit by an A340!” That’s two in a row for Matt!
He captured the Air France Airbus A340-300 as it lines up with runway 09 at St. Maarten’s Princess Juliana International Airport on Friday, March 21st, 2008. The photo was taken from Maho Beach, located at the end of SXM’s runway 09.
Something tells me this photo won’t be one they’ll pick to advertise St. Maarten’s.
