Trump Las Vegas hotel offers a “paws massage package” for you and your pooch

Sure, traveling with your pet is nothing new – but what about heading to the spa with your favorite four-legged friends? Trump Las Vegas, one of the first Las Vegas hotels to
welcome pets, is now offering a guests a Paws Massage Package, which includes a 30-minute rubdown for guests and a 30-minute massage for your pooch. The $150 package is performed in the comfort of your own suite.

Misty, star of Marley & Me, was one of the first to recieve the service. The pooch gave it four paws up, or so we’re told.

The hotel goes out of its way to be pet-friendly, equipping rooms amenities including a plush dog bed, gourmet treats, a water bowl and fresh bottled water. The hotel will also donate a portion of the $200 cleaning fee for every dog that stays at the property to the Nevada SPCA No-Kill Animal Sanctuary.

While we’re not sure our own pup is going to be the best companion for a rubdown, (he’s a bit vocal about his tummy rubs) we’d love to hear your thoughts about this service – is it something you want to try?

Daily Pampering: Las Vegas hotels break out the mega-suites

Admit it: You have always wanted to live like a high-roller, at least for one night in Las Vegas. There’s no shame in it – we all secretly have the desire, and it’s hard not to say no when Las Vegas hotels create suite packages and deals that make you feel like you’re top royalty.

At Las Vegas’ Rumor Boutique Hotel, however, the luxe life is little more in reach (well, depending on how many friends you want to share it with). The hotel recently announced their new mega-suites – The Swinger, The Gossip, The Camouflage, and The Diva – each one with a unique selling point. Whether you choose to whoop it up “Hangover”-style or unleash your inner-diva, you won’t be disappointed. But for the purposes of this Daily Pampering, we’re focusing on the bathroom: Every suite is also equipped with an “ultra-lounge/party bathroom” featuring a 10-person, open shower with two rain showerheads and a plush u-shaped couch that comfortably seats 10.

That’s right. You and 9 of your closest friends (or new friends you picked up that night in Vegas) can get cozy and clean under the rain showerheads of this “suite” bathroom. In addition to the sexy shower, each suite is 1,000 square feet with iPod docking stations, wet bar, mini refrigerator, four-seater high boys with a glass top, two custom-made couches, 60-inch plasma in the bedroom/living room area and a 32-inch plasma in the bathroom.

The price for this Daily Pampering: Weekday rates start at just $350 and $500 on weekends. Our suggestion: Tell your friends to bring their own soap.

What’s in a name? Las Vegas Sands may drop “Las Vegas” from its name

How iconic is a name? We might soon find out, especially if the Las Vegas Sands removes the city name from its title.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. is considering removing “Las Vegas” from its company name, giving the “Sands” name a more international presence. According to HotelsMag.com, CEO Sheldon Adelson has publicly suggested either Sands International or Sands Resorts International, although a spokesman says the company has not yet decided on a new name or when the hotel group might announce the official name change.

The Sands group also owns and operates The Venetian and The Palazzo on the Las Vegas Strip.

New boutique hotel RUMOR opens in Las Vegas

It may not be as grand as its neighbors, but what RUMOR lacks in stature it makes up for in intimacy. Las Vegas’ latest boutique hotel recently opened featuring all the goodness of Las Vegas packed into a much smaller space.

RUMOR (formerly St. Tropez Hotel) is a two-story pet-friendly hideaway directly across the street from the famed Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. While it might get lost among the expanding Las Vegas skyline, the boutique hotel has an interior that rivals its neighbors.

The 150-suite features Chinese foo dogs at the entrance, hand carved from solid slabs of distinctly colored cantera stone; flowing drapes and 10-foot glass doors that open into a stunning display of original artwork. RUMOR’s lobby area is more like a lounge, as opposed to the typical casino floor found in Vegas, and the hotel’s restaurant, Addiction, is said to have some pretty addictive cuisine. Head outside to the hotel’s courtyard and you’ll find a pool, wet deck and lawn, all framed with palm trees. By day, relax by the pool with a cocktail; at night, put on your party shoes and dance the night away with DJs and live musicians.

We wonder of what happens at RUMOR stays at RUMOR, or if part of the fun of this new hotel is getting to gossip about last night…
