Daily deal – Samsung WEP210 Bluetooth headset for $8.60

by Scott Carmichael on

Looking for a really cheap Bluetooth headset? My daily deal for today is for the Samsung WEP210 headset, for a mere $8.60.

In order to get the low price, you’ll need to get yourself to the Amazon product page, then be sure to check out the “more buying choices” on the right.

In that box, you’ll notice that Amazon themselves are selling it for just $8.60, with free shipping for Prime members, or about $5 for others.

The headset itself has fairly mixed reviews, some people rave about it, others complain about poor volume. Still, for $9 you can’t really go wrong.

The headset comes complete with a travel charger, and you should be able to squeeze about 70 hours of standby usage out of it.

Daily deal – Toshiba 250GB portable hard drive for $65

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for this afternoon is for a Toshiba portable external hard drive.

Besides being a really good deal, there are several other reasons why I think everyone who travels with their computer should invest in a portable drive.

For starters – the 250GB storage space should be enough to hold a backup of most of your important files. In addition to this, it can also make a safe place to store photos and videos you make on your trip, I know several people who made over 1000 photos, and lost every single one of them when their laptop hard drive crashed before arriving back home.

The best part about these portable drives is that they can be powered off the USB port of your laptop or desktop computer, which means you don’t have to drag an additional power supply along with you.

Another great thing a large external drive can do, is add more storage space for music or video files – especially since many small laptop computers only come with limited space. You’ll find this Toshiba 250GB portable hard drive on sale at Amazon for $65.85, which includes free shipping.

Daily deal – Philips noise canceling headphones for $7

by Scott Carmichael on

Forget those $300 noise canceling headphones – adding a little peace and quiet does not come any cheaper than these $7 Philips noise canceling headphones.

They are currently on sale at Amazon.com through a third party seller, and can be yours for $6.99 plus $5.99 shipping.

The inventory is very low, and at the moment only 3 are left in stock, with more on the way, so you may have to wait a little to actually get your hands on them, but at a price this low, I don’t think you’ll be complaining. If they do sell out, other Amazon retailers can help you out, but you’ll pay about $4 more.

Reviews on them are generally good, plus the package comes with an airline audio adapter, which you may need on some older airlines.

Update: The $7 version did indeed sell out, the current seller is offering them for $10.68 with $6 shipping, still very cheap!

Daily deal – Jawbone noise canceling Bluetooth headset for $34.95

by Scott Carmichael on

My daily deal for today is for the Jawbone noise canceling Bluetooth headset.

This headset has always been very highly rated, and was recently upgraded to the Jawbone 2.0, which means now is the time to find good deals on the previous generation.

The headset features several noise canceling technologies, and eliminates background noise on the earpiece and microphone.

The Jawbone comes with an assortment of earpieces and earloops, making it easy to find the perfect fit.

The headset is on sale at 1saleaday, another of those sites that sells one product a day – so if you are in the market for a decent headset, don’t wait too long, or the Jawbone will be replaced by the next new item.

Included with the Jawbone is a travel charger and shipping is $4.99, making the total purchase price a tad under $40, which is not bad at all for a headset that still retails for $52 on Amazon.com.

Daily deal – 4GB Sandisk Cruzer Gator USB flash drive for $9.99

by Scott Carmichael on

At some point in the past year, someone at Sandisk woke up one morning and had the amazing idea to make a USB flash drive with an alligator print.

The product description is even wackier- “The Cruzer Gator is available in black with a fashionable, stylish design to let everyone know exactly who you are by showing them your USB Flash Drive“. I’m guessing that is marketing talk for “I’m someone who likes to kill alligators”.

Either way, this 4GB USB flash drive is currently on sale over at Amazon.com for just $9.99, making it one of the cheapest options out there for a brand name flash drive. As always, orders at Amazon over $25 ship for free, so order a couple of these drives for your friends, or take advantage of the Amazon Prime service for free shipping.

With a flash drive, you’ll always have a compact place to store your files, but if you are feeling a little more adventurous, you can load the drive with portable versions of your favorite applications.

A great place to find portable apps, is the conveniently names portableapps.com. The biggest advantage of these portable apps is that they all run off the USB memory drive, without the need to install anything to the host PC, making them perfect for public computers, or a work laptop.
