Daily deal – up to 40% off the SeV summer collection

My daily deal today is for the “Scottevest summer sale”. If you have never heard of Scottevest (SeV), let me give you a brief introduction to what they make.

SeV has created a lineup of clothes specifically targeted towards people who tend to carry (too many) gadgets and other items. Most of their products have extra pockets (as many as 25 of them), and some products even include what SeV refer to as a PAN – Personal Area Network.

The PAN is essentially a way to route your headphone cables inside your garment, without having those stupid wires get in the way when you run down the concourse trying to make your connecting flight. In every possible way they are the perfect garments for traveling in.

Every single one of their products goes way beyond just making you look cool. Take for example their “Ultimate Cargo Pants”, which are on sale for just $60. These pants look pretty regular on the outside, but hidden away are 14 pockets, including a key holder, battery holders and even an “airplane pocket”, which is located mid-shin and lets you access your gear when you are crammed between 2 people back in row 87.

The pants are Teflon coated, so when your seatmate spills his or her drink all over you, it should be a pretty easy cleanup job. Also if things get too hot, you can unzip the pants legs and turn them into ultimate cargo shorts.

Since summer is slowly coming to an end, SeV is offering a great 40% discount on some of their top selling products:

To get the discount, you’ll have to enter a “secret” coupon code at checkout. The coupon code is SUMMERSALE. All products ship for just $5 each. The coupon code is valid until Monday August 4th, or until they run out of stock of the sale items. To learn more about the other products SeV makes, be sure to check out their site.

Daily deal – 2GB Creative Labs MP3 player with FM Radio for $29.99

The daily deal for today is for the highly rated Creative Labs Zen Stone Plus 2GB MP3 player. This player is about the same size as the Apple iPod Shuffle, but unlike the Shuffle, this player has a small display. The Zen Stone Plus even has an FM radio, stopwatch, countdown timer and a clock. And if that is not enough, you even get a voice memo recorder.

This player normally sells for just under $60, but if you don’t mind buying a refurbished product, you can buy one today for just $29.99. Refurbished products are usually items that have been returned to the manufacturer and are returned to their “as new” condition. Creative Labs include a 90 day warranty with their refurbished products.

The Zen Stone is available in black, white and blue. The red and pink versions are currently out of stock, but may be available later this week.

At this price, you could pick up a player for your kids and load it with their favorite music to keep them entertained in the car or plane. The Zen Stone features a volume restriction control, to protect their ears and with 2GB of storage space, you should be able to fit up to 500 songs on the player.

The Creative Labs Zen Stone is available in their web store. Shipping is a pretty unreasonable $9.95 for one player, or (oddly enough), just $4.99 for 2. Orders of $90 or more ship for free.

Daily deal – up to 50% off outdoor gear at Amazon.com

My daily deal for today is for a large clearance event at the Amazon.com outdoors store. With summer slowly coming to an end for many of us, Amazon clearly need to make room in their warehouses for Halloween costumes and Christmas toys. Their loss is your gain, because there are some very nice deals to be found.

Some of the highlights include this heavy duty flashlight for $5.50, this highly rated Teton backpack with internal frame for $57.17 or this Columbia 3 person tent for just $51.58.

There is something for everyone in the discount aisle, including some pretty sweet discounts on Victorinox Swiss Army knives.

All purchases over $25 ship for free, and as always, Amazon Prime members can benefit from free 2 day shipping on most products.

For an overview of all the deals, check out their various discount departments:Cycling and wheeled, Camping and hiking and Exercise and fitness

Daily deal: Duracell portable USB battery pack

Today’s daily deal is for the Duracell DR7000LI portable USB battery pack. If you read my review yesterday of the Kensington ultra portable battery pack, you’ll understand the convenience of carrying backup power on your trip.

The Duracell DR7000LI has an internal Lithium-Ion battery pack with a 1000mAh capacity. This is slightly lower than the Kensington I reviewed, but still perfectly sufficient for charging an iPod or your mobile phone several times.

The DR7000LI does not include an AC adapter, so in order to charge it, you’ll need to hook it up to your PC, or purchase a separate AC charger with a USB port.

Included in the package is a USB to mini-USB cable for connecting the battery pack to your Blackberry or other device with a mini-USB connector. For charging your iPod, iPhone or other product, you’ll need to bring the appropriate USB cable which is usually included with your device. There are no buttons on the battery pack, so it’s simply a matter of plug and charge.

Next time you find yourself stuck at the airport with a dead mobile phone, or halfway over the ocean with an empty iPod battery, simply grab your portable power pack and you’ll be making phone calls or watching a movie before you know it.

It’s on sale today for just $19.99 over at Amazon.com which is a $10 savings over the normal price. Add an additional $5.01 to reach the threshold Amazon free super saver shipping.

Daily Deal – Tumi annual summer sale

Today’s deal of the day is another luggage sale. Tumi is holding its yearly “Summer Sale“, and some of their most popular products are on sale for as much as 50% off.

Tumi products are not cheap, but when it comes to $300 luggage, there are 2 kinds of people; those who love $300 luggage, and those who laugh at those who love $300 luggage.

When your backpack, duffel bag or rolling case is also your home for most of the year, you learn to appreciate high quality luggage. If you have ever watched your suitcase come down the baggage carousel followed by your clothes, you’ll understand why I have been a happy Tumi customer for many years.

My poor rolling case has been around the world several times, but still feels brand new, give or take a couple of battle scars and about 40 airport security stickers.

Some of the highlights of the sale (in my opinion) are the Mulberry 22″ wheeled duffel for $199 (was $295) and this 24″ wheeled packing case for $229 (was $345).

Don’t get me wrong, not everything is a hot deal, unless you are looking for an overpriced $89 leather envelope or this $1200 suitcase.

All Tumi luggage comes with either 3 or 5 years warranty, and the first year is a full coverage which also covers accidental damage by the airlines. All Tumi luggage products include their free Tracer program which allows you to register the item serial number with Tumi, which could come in handy if it ever fails to arrive at your destination.

The Tumi summer sale lasts till July 31st and shipping starts at just $5.
